Storm of Roses Earns The Prestigious Editor's Choice Title From iUniverse, Inc. Editorial Board
Silver Spring, Maryland—Storm of Roses: A Compilation of Poetry and Short Stories has earned the prestigious Editor’s Choice award, designating it as a high-quality title. The editors are impressed, stating that “This is a great book, and it will make an excellent addition to the Editors Choice lineup.” The Editors Choice title is only a prelude to the assured success of this anticipated eye-opener of unapologetic poetic and story-telling muscle. Additional comments from the editors can be found on E. Tara Scurry’s official website, www.etarascurry.com.
This time of year is busy for everyone, including E. Tara Scurry who is working closely with her publisher to polish and distribute the compilation for publication late January or early February. And as always, she invites you to attend the upcoming events which are posted in detail on her website. The most recent event added will take place February 12th from 4:30pm – 7:00pm at the Clearwater Nature Center. E. Tara Scurry will be reading from her compilation and signing books (if available) during the “Clearwater Coffee House Hearts of Poetry in Motion”.
Gift giving is a traditional and joyful part of the holiday season. In that spirit, E. Tara Scurry has provided us with one of her more recent pieces of holiday poetics for your pleasure:
Seasons Greetings
Drowned itself on cold pavement
Beautiful sparkling little snow
Ice of tiny cotton, shimmering tears of the sky
The blanket of delicate powder that covers the world
When the sky cries after the death of Fall
Summer has already rotted away
In her bright and colorful coffin, her flesh is gone
Gone with her sweet scent and beautiful curls
Laying there, a stinking shell and hair stiff like wires
Now, Fall finally closed his eyes - shriveled man, light as a leaf
Crispy and lifeless, and dull on his death bed
Cold, hard brown hands, thick veins and grey auburn hair
Winter fat and full, red eyes, green hair, black lips and blue skin
Sits up stiffly and brutal, like a vampire, ready to feast and make bodies cold
